A small but engaging museum inside the original 1920s National Bank of Cambodia, restored when the new bank tower opened next door. The displays trace Khmer currency from Funan-era barter to the riel — including the strange episode of the Khmer Rouge years, when money was abolished entirely and the central bank building blown up.
Cabinets show coins, banknotes and the printing plates used to produce them. Free admission, modest air-conditioning, and almost always empty — a useful refuge between Wat Phnom and the riverside.
