Renwei Taoist Temple is an active historic temple in Liwan, built in traditional Cantonese style. Look up at the roofline for the carved and mosaic decoration, which gives the complex much of its character.
It makes a good companion to Guangzhou's better-known temples because it still feels like a working neighbourhood shrine rather than only a museum piece.
