Shipai Village is one of Guangzhou's largest urban villages, a dense old settlement now surrounded by the towers and shopping streets of Tianhe. It is not polished sightseeing, but it gives a useful look at the way older village life, cheap food stalls, small shops, and migrant housing survive inside the modern city.
