The Memorial Library opened in 1986 on the centenary of Sun Yat-sen's birth and has since grown into one of the largest municipal libraries in Guangdong. The current building, opened in 2018, is a striking modern hall on the south bank of the Qijiang River — all glass, white panels, and dramatic interior atria.
Most visitors come simply to wander the reading rooms and admire the architecture. There is a small permanent exhibition on Sun Yat-sen's writings, a cafe, and large outdoor terraces overlooking the river that are pleasant on a warm evening. Closed Mondays.
