Nanning Confucius Temple is a large ceremonial complex that presents Confucian architecture, ritual space, and cultural symbolism on a scale unusual for a modern city itinerary. It is a useful counterpoint to Nanning's parks and commercial districts.
The complex is best appreciated slowly, with attention to gates, courtyards, rooflines, and ceremonial axes. It sits away from some central sights, so group it with other Qingxiu-area stops if possible.
