Banpo Museum

6,000-year-old Neolithic village excavation site

A Neolithic site in the eastern suburbs of Xi'an, dating back 6,000 years. The excavated ruins of a matriarchal clan community are preserved under a large hangar, with 45 houses, 200 storage pits, kilns, and over 10,000 artefacts on display. Not as spectacular as the Terracotta Warriors but more genuinely ancient.
