A large theme park-meets-historical-recreation built on the site of the Tang dynasty Furong Garden, immediately east of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. By day it is a pleasant lakefront park with reconstructed Tang pavilions, a couple of museums, and a long colonnade that fills with locals practising calligraphy and ballroom dancing. By night it transforms into one of Xi'an's signature spectacles, with full lighting, fountain shows, and a grand Tang-dynasty water-screen-and-laser performance built into the central lake.
Some travellers find the whole thing kitsch. Others find the night lighting genuinely beautiful and the recreated music and costumes a useful complement to the artefacts at the Shaanxi History Museum. Best after dark; the show schedule changes seasonally so check before going.
