EME Temple is one of Vadodara's most unusual religious buildings, a Shiva temple known for its bright aluminium-clad form and military connection. Built by the Electrical and Mechanical Engineers corps, it combines modern materials with symbolic references to several Indian faith traditions.
The temple is worth seeing for its architecture as much as for devotion. It sits away from the palace-and-museum circuit, so allow time for transport and dress as you would for any active place of worship.
