Sayajirao III laid out this 45-hectare public park on the banks of the Vishwamitri river in 1879 and named it after himself. It contains the Baroda Museum, a small zoo, a planetarium, a floral clock, and a toy train that loops the gardens -- ideal if you have children in tow. In the early evening the park fills with families, joggers, and courting couples, and is one of the best places in Vadodara to feel the rhythm of the city.
