Guindy National Park is one of India's smallest national parks and one of the rare ones inside a major city. Its dry evergreen forest shelters blackbuck, spotted deer, jackals, many birds, and a surprising amount of quiet so close to Chennai's traffic.
It works well as a low-key family stop or a nature break between temples, beaches, and museums. Go early in the day, when the heat is easier and wildlife is more active.
