Ripon Building is one of Chennai's best-known civic landmarks, a white Neoclassical structure built between 1909 and 1913 for the city corporation. Its clock tower and long arcaded facade stand close to Chennai Central station.
The building is still a working municipal office, but the Greater Chennai Corporation has offered short heritage tours on selected mornings. If tours are running, register in advance and expect more architecture than museum display.
