Chennai's sights spread across the city, but most visitors start with the old colonial strip along the waterfront. Fort St. George is the oldest surviving English fort in India. A short drive south, Marina Beach runs for thirteen kilometres — the second-longest urban beach in the world, and where Chennai walks in the evenings. For Hindu Chennai, head to Mylapore, the city's oldest neighbourhood, and the Kapaleeswarar Temple. The Government Museum in Egmore has the best collection of Chola bronzes anywhere.
