Bhabaniswar Mandir is an octagonal 18th-century temple near Baranagar, north of Murshidabad's main palace sights. It does not have the terracotta panels that make some nearby temples famous, but the stucco work gives it a quieter, more delicate appeal.
It works best as part of a Baranagar temple round with Char Bangla and the other riverside shrines. Come for the shape, the carving, and the sense of a small historic complex away from the busier Hazarduari area.
