Fauti Masjid is an unfinished mosque begun by Sarfaraz Khan around 1740. Only part of the planned five-domed structure was completed, and the abandoned state has become the thing that makes it memorable.
It is not as essential as Hazarduari or Katra Masjid, but it rewards travellers who like ruins with loose ends. The scale hints at ambition; the unfinished shell hints at how abruptly power could change in nawab Bengal.
