The Museum of Art, Ehime is the prefecture's main art institution, located in the city center near the castle hill. The collection focuses on Japanese-style painting (nihonga), Western-style painting by Japanese artists, and works by artists with connections to Ehime Prefecture.
It is a solid regional museum — nothing spectacular by major-city standards, but well-curated and worth an hour, especially on a rainy day. Special exhibitions rotate through regularly and sometimes feature significant loans.
