Tobe Zoo, officially the Ehime Tobe Zoological Park, is the main zoo for the Matsuyama area. It sits south of the city in Tobe and spreads across a broad hillside site, with big-ticket animals such as polar bears, elephants, lions, and giraffes alongside smaller enclosures.
This is a practical family outing rather than an essential cultural sight. It works best for travellers with children or for anyone staying long enough in Matsuyama to look beyond the castle, Dogo Onsen, and temple circuit.
