Patriata

Galyat hill resort near Murree, reached by chairlift and cable car above forested valleys

Patriata is a hill resort about 25 km from Murree in the Galyat range. A chairlift and cable car system carries visitors up to Patriata Ridge in two stages from Gulehra Gali — first by chairlift to Patriata Bazaar, then by gondola to the top. The views over the forested hills and valleys of the Pir Panjal foothills are the main reward, and there is a restaurant at the summit.

The resort is popular with Pakistani families as a weekend escape from the heat of the plains, especially in summer. It is a simple, pleasant day trip from Murree rather than a destination in its own right.

Things to Do

Patriata is a one-attraction resort: ride the chairlift and gondola up the ridge, walk around at the top, eat at the summit restaurant, ride back down. Allow two to three hours including queueing time in peak season.
