Baloy is the backpacker-and-budget beach just outside the freeport's main gate — no entrance fee, plenty of cheap guesthouses and beach bars, and a livelier (sometimes rowdier) evening scene than the more polished beaches inside the zone.
The beach itself is narrow and the water shallow, but the atmosphere is friendly. It is also a popular base for divers, with several local dive shops running daily trips to the bay's wrecks.
