JEST (Jungle Environmental Survival Training) Camp was the actual US Navy SEAL jungle survival training school during the Vietnam War. Today it operates as a low-key visitor centre and survival-skills demonstration site, still run with the participation of the Aeta who taught the SEALs.
The standard tour covers fire-starting, edible plants, and a demonstration of how to extract water from vines. There is also a longer overnight survival course for groups who book ahead. The camp is set in genuine secondary rainforest about 3 kilometres into the freeport.
