Education City

Education City is Qatar Foundation's 12 sq km campus on the western edge of Doha — a small city in itself, containing branch campuses of Georgetown, Northwestern, Carnegie Mellon, Texas A&M, Cornell Medical, HEC Paris, and UCL Qatar, among others. The campus also holds Mathaf, the Qatar National Library, a mosque designed by Ibrahim El-Shaikh, the Torch Tower replica, and an expansive landscaped grounds.

Non-students and non-researchers can access the campus freely. The libraries and cafés are open to visitors; the architecture of the campus buildings — most by internationally known practices — is worth exploring. The location on the western side of the city requires a taxi or the Hamad International Airport metro connection; it is not walkable from central Doha.
