Fire Station — Artist in Residence

Doha's former Central Fire Station has been converted into a contemporary arts complex housing studios, galleries, and a residency programme for Qatari and international artists. The building dates from 1982 and retains the garage bays and operational feel of a working station, which gives the galleries an industrial texture absent from Doha's grander cultural institutions.

The Fire Station hosts open studio events, temporary exhibitions, and a permanent collection of works produced by artists in residence. It is less polished than the MIA or Mathaf, but more interesting as a living creative environment. The café is popular with Doha's arts community. Located on Al Luqta Street, a short taxi ride from the Corniche.
