The Syrian National Museum sits along the western side of the Takiyeh al Suleimaniyeh, near the edge of the Old City. It holds one of the largest collections of sculptures, bronzes and pottery in the Middle East, with artefacts spanning the Aramaic, Roman and Islamic periods. The museum is closed on Tuesdays.
