The Futai Street Mansion is a small two-storey building of 1910, one of the very few Japanese-era commercial buildings of its type to survive in central Taipei. Built of stone and timber with a steep mansard roof and dormer windows, it originally housed a building-materials trading company on what was then Fukutai Street.
Restored after fire damage, it now serves as a small heritage exhibition space and cafe explaining the area's history. It stands beside the restored North Gate (Beimen) and is an easy stop between Ximending and Taipei Main Station.
