İçkale Mosque

İçkale Mosque stands on Trabzon's old acropolis and is probably one of the first mosques built in the captured city, dating to around 1470. It was restored in the 19th century, while the minaret is a much later addition from the 1960s.

The mosque is a worthwhile stop for visitors tracing Trabzon's layered Byzantine and Ottoman history through its old fortified core, churches, mosques, and hilltop viewpoints.
