Meydan is Trabzon's central square and the practical heart of the city. It is where buses, shopping streets, tea gardens, and evening strolling all seem to fold into one another, especially when the Black Sea weather gives people a reason to move quickly indoors and out again.
You come here less for a monument than for orientation. Start or end a city walk at Meydan, then branch toward the old churches, bazaar streets, and viewpoints that make Trabzon more layered than its first impression as a busy regional hub.
