Tavanli Mosque is a small Ottoman mosque built in 1874 on the site of an older 16th-century masjid. It is no longer in regular use, but its age and central location make it a worthwhile pause for travellers tracing Trabzon's layered religious architecture.
It fits naturally into a walk that also takes in Yenicuma Mosque, Trabzon Museum, and the older streets around the centre.
