Dinh Cau Temple

A small Taoist temple perched on a rocky promontory at the mouth of Duong Dong River, built in 1937 and dedicated to Thien Hau, the goddess of the sea. Local fishing families pray here before and after voyages, and the red lanterns and incense give the little shrine a vivid atmosphere against the backdrop of the river mouth and the fishing boats moored below.

The sunset from the Dinh Cau rock over the Gulf of Thailand is one of the better views in Duong Dong. The temple is free to enter and takes about 20 minutes to visit; combine it with the night market immediately south.
