Ham Ninh Fishing Village

A fishing village on the northeast coast of the island, about 20 km from Duong Dong, that has retained much of its traditional character despite the island's rapid development elsewhere. Wooden stilt houses line the waterfront, fishing boats cluster in the shallows, and the seafood restaurants along the pier serve the freshest grilled fish and crab on the island — brought in from the boats tied up outside.

Ham Ninh is best visited for lunch or early afternoon, then combined with a loop around the eastern side of the island back to Duong Dong. The pier itself, jutting over the shallow estuary with views to the mainland, is worth the journey. Reach it by motorbike in about 45 minutes from Duong Dong.
