A small fishing village at the northern tip of the island, reached by a rough track through the national park. Rach Vem is known for its unusual floating oyster farms — racks of oyster cages mark the shallow waters offshore, tended by families who have worked this stretch of coast for generations.
The village feels genuinely remote and unchanged by the resort development further south. A few simple seafood restaurants by the pier serve oysters, clams, and fish caught the same morning. The journey — best by motorbike, about an hour from Duong Dong — passes through some of the most attractive forest on the island.
