The hillside neighbourhood that climbs west from the centre, named after Melbourne's smart suburb but considerably less smart these days. The houses are a mix of old planters' bungalows and tin-roofed cottages, and the streets give a good view back down over Suva harbour.
Toorak is also home to a number of Suva's older Indo-Fijian temples, Hindu and Sikh, and the Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami Temple area on the road out toward Tamavua.
