Nasese

The leafy government quarter, south of the centre along Queen Elizabeth Drive. This is where you will find the Government Buildings, the Parliament of Fiji, the Fiji Museum and Thurston Gardens, and several of the foreign embassies and high commissions.

The streets are tree-lined and the houses big, slightly faded, with corrugated-iron roofs and wide verandas. The whole quarter is a long walk south from the centre but well worth it on a cooler morning.
