A triangular landscaped park between the centre and the Diamond District, laid out in 1869 on the line of the old city walls. A small pond, a high suspension bridge, and several monumental sculptures break up what is otherwise a generous expanse of trees and grass. It is the most central proper park in the city and is busy at lunchtime with office workers from the diamond quarter.
A worthwhile shortcut between Central Station and the centre if you have a spare twenty minutes. The bridge gives the best view across the pond toward the city. In December the park hosts an outdoor ice rink as part of the Christmas market season.
