Maison Guiette is Antwerp's Le Corbusier house, designed in the 1920s for painter René Guiette. Its white planes, ribbon windows, and strict geometry make it a sharp modernist counterpoint to the city's guild houses, churches, and port architecture.
The house is privately owned, so the visit is usually an exterior architecture stop rather than a tour. Even from the street, it is worth seeking out if you are interested in modernism: a small but internationally significant building tucked into an ordinary Antwerp neighbourhood.
