FotoMuseum Antwerp, usually shortened to FOMU, is one of the strongest reasons to spend time in Het Zuid after the KMSKA and M HKA. Its exhibitions range from documentary photography and fashion images to experimental contemporary work, with enough turnover that repeat visits can feel quite different.
The museum is particularly good for travellers who like visual culture but want something more compact than a full afternoon in a fine-arts museum. Combine it with the nearby contemporary art museum and the riverfront, then stay in the neighbourhood for cafes or dinner.
