Fredericia Station

Fredericia station is one of the most important rail junctions in Denmark — the point where the lines from Copenhagen across Funen meet the north-south Jutland mainline. The current station, opened in 1935, is a fine piece of functional Danish modernism, with a low brick concourse and a clock tower.

It is not really a sight in itself, but if you arrive by train it's worth a moment to appreciate the busy choreography of intercity, regional and freight trains threading through. There is a small railway-themed cafe inside, and the lemon-yellow regional trains have become a Danish icon.
