Fredericia is not a long stop, but the historic core inside the ramparts is a pleasant half day's walk. The star-shaped earthworks are the headline attraction, with the Land Soldier monument and the Trinity Church inside. Add the small but well-presented Fredericia Museum and the curious Earth Spirit sculpture by the water, and you have a full day's outing.
