Gunpowder Tower

Small 17th-century powder tower on Fredericia’s ramparts, part of the fortified town story.

The Gunpowder Tower, or Krudttarnet, is a small but evocative piece of Fredericia's old military landscape. It stands by the ramparts, a reminder that this planned town was built as a fortress as much as a trading settlement.

The tower is best appreciated as part of a walk along the embankments rather than as a standalone destination. Together with gates, bastions, and views over the Little Belt, it helps explain why Fredericia's street grid and green edges feel so deliberate.
