Museum Østjylland is the main local-history museum for Randers and the surrounding part of East Jutland. Its displays move from archaeology into town life, interiors, trade, and the everyday objects that explain how Randers grew from a river town into a regional centre.
It is a sensible stop if Randers Kunstmuseum has put you in the Kulturhuset area already. The museum is not flashy, but it adds useful context to the old streets outside and gives the city more depth than a quick zoo-and-shopping visit would suggest.
