Tórshavn's small Catholic church sits in the upper, modern part of town. It was completed in 1987 and is a low, white building whose simple lines echo the older Lutheran churches of the Faroes. It serves the small Catholic community of the islands — Faroese Catholicism almost died out during the Reformation and only returned in the 19th century with foreign workers.
Of interest mainly to architecture-spotters and to those curious about minority traditions on the islands. It is open for services and at limited other times.
