Vaglið is the central public square of Tórshavn, sitting between Tinganes and the upper town. It is dominated by the modest yellow building of the Løgting — the Faroese parliament — and ringed by cafés, bookshops, and government offices.
The square is the natural meeting point for any public event: national day celebrations, political rallies, the start of the Ólavsøka procession in July. On ordinary days it is a quiet place to sit on a bench, have a coffee, and watch the small-town capital go about its business.
