Musée Archéologique

The Archaeological Museum occupies the medieval dormitory of the Saint-Bénigne abbey, a vaulted Romanesque hall that is itself worth the visit. The collection covers Burgundy from prehistory through the Gallo-Roman period to the Middle Ages. The standout pieces are bronze votive offerings from the source of the Seine — site of an ancient Celtic shrine — and a Gallo-Roman bronze head of a goddess found at the same place.

Free entry. About an hour. Closed Tuesdays. The setting alone makes it worth a stop.
