Musée de la Vie Bourguignonne

The Museum of Burgundian Life occupies the 17th-century Bernardine monastery near the Cathedral. The collection covers everyday rural and urban life in Burgundy from the 18th to the early 20th century: traditional dress, kitchens, agricultural tools, religious objects. The most enjoyable section is a reconstructed 19th-century shopping street, complete with a pharmacy, hatter, photographer, and grocer.

In the same building, the Musée d'Art Sacré holds Catholic ecclesiastical art from across the region. Both museums are free and can be done together in about an hour and a half. Closed Tuesdays.
