Stadtmuseum Fembohaus

Renaissance merchant's house turned city museum with 1930s Nuremberg scale model

Nuremberg's city history museum occupies the Fembohaus, the finest surviving Renaissance merchant's house in the city (built 1591–1600). The highlight of the collection is a large wooden scale model of Nuremberg as it appeared in the 1930s, before wartime bombing destroyed much of the medieval fabric. Other displays cover the city's role in trade, crafts, and printing during the late medieval period.
