Frauenkirche

Gothic church with a famous mechanical clock on the Hauptmarkt

A Gothic hall church on the Hauptmarkt, built between 1352 and 1358 on the site of a demolished synagogue. The west facade's oriel houses the Männleinlaufen — a clock installed in 1509 that at noon each day sends a procession of seven electors circling around a seated emperor. The original Gothic altar inside dates from 1445.
