Veszprem's Fire Tower has a medieval base and an upper section rebuilt in the early 19th century. Its balcony gives one of the most useful views over the old town, castle district, and the surrounding hills.
Climb it early in a visit if it is open, since the view helps make sense of Veszprem's ridge-top layout. The tower is also an easy landmark while walking between the castle district and the lower town.
