The Megyeháza, the County Hall, was completed in 1887 as the seat of Veszprém county's administration. The building is one of the largest in town and one of the better examples of Hungarian eclectic architecture from the period — a mix of Renaissance Revival, Romanesque, and Gothic detail.
It still serves as the county government building, so the main hall and council chamber are not generally open. The exterior — the elaborate corner tower, the carved stone window frames — is worth a slow walk around.
