Erice is small — an hour is enough to walk its main streets — but the density of history is remarkable for such a compact hilltop. The Norman castle, the Cordici Museum, the ancient Elymian walls, and the string of medieval churches make for concentrated sightseeing. The views from various points around the perimeter are consistently excellent.
