Klaipeda's old town is small and manageable — the Theatre Square, with its fountain of Simon Dach and the historic Drama Theatre, is the natural starting point. The Clock Museum on Liepų Street is one of the more unusual collections in Lithuania. The main cultural reason to come to Klaipeda, however, is as a gateway to the Curonian Spit: the ferry to Smiltyne takes 5 minutes, and the Lithuanian Sea Museum there is excellent.
