A large forest park on the western edge of Apeldoorn, home to the Apenheul and Boschbad but worth visiting in its own right. Trails wind through pine and oak woodland with good cycling and walking routes. At the centre stands the Uitkijktoren, a modest steel observation tower that lifts you above the canopy for views over the Veluwe. It's a short climb and the panorama on a clear day stretches surprisingly far. Free to enter; tower access is included.
