A small, quirky museum just off the Oude Boteringestraat that displays the cast-offs and curiosities of four centuries of university research: brass orreries, antique microscopes, a preserved blue whale skeleton, a 19th-century anatomical collection in glass jars, and the personal items of past professors. It is free to enter and rarely crowded.
The collection rewards the curious in the same way a quirky uncle's attic does — every drawer contains something unexpected. Open Tuesday to Sunday, closed Mondays.
